農林水産省は、高止まりが続いていたコメの価格を引き下げるため、随意契約による備蓄米を放出し、販売期限を今月末に定めていますが、コメの小売業者の間では売り切れるか不透明だという見方が出ています。
The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has decided to release stockpiled rice through negotiated contracts in order to lower the persistently high rice prices, setting the sales deadline at the end of this month. この備蓄米について、小泉農林水産大臣は5日の閣議のあとの会見で、スーパーや外食業者などが申し込んだおよそ30万トンのうち、今月1日までに全体のほぼ1割にあたる2万9000トンほどがキャンセルされたことを明らかにしました。

そのうえで小泉大臣は「地域によっては少量しか入荷していないという不満の声もある」と述べ、キャンセルの背景に倉庫からの出荷や配送の遅れがあるという見方を示し、対応を検討する考えを示しました。
