Six police officers from a police station in Sagamihara City were found to have been playing cards for money while on duty at a police box on New Years Day this year. The Kanagawa Prefectural Police Headquarters has taken disciplinary action against the six, including pay cuts, and has referred them to prosecutors on suspicion of gambling.
警察によりますと、相模原市の津久井警察署地域課に所属する警察官6人は、ことしの元日の夜、勤務中に交番に集まり、翌日の未明までおよそ3時間にわたって現金を賭けてトランプをしていたということです。
According to the police, six officers from the Community Affairs Division of the Tsukui Police Station in Sagamihara City gathered at a police box while on duty on New Years night this year, and played cards for money for about three hours until the early hours of the following day.
6人は「大富豪」というゲームを合わせて10数回行い、最終的に3000円ほど勝った警察官もいたということです。
