ウクライナ情勢をめぐり、アメリカのトランプ大統領とロシアのプーチン大統領による首脳会談が今月15日、アメリカのアラスカ州で予定され、ロシア大統領府の高官は「ウクライナ危機の長期的で平和的な解決に向けた議論に両首脳が集中する場になる」としています。
Regarding the situation in Ukraine, a summit meeting between U.S. President Trump and Russian President Putin is scheduled for the 15th of this month in Alaska, USA. A senior official from the Russian presidential office stated, It will be an opportunity for both leaders to focus on discussions aimed at a long-term and peaceful resolution of the Ukraine crisis.
首脳会談を前にイギリスやフランス、ドイツなどヨーロッパ各国の首脳は9日、共同声明を発表し、「トランプ大統領の取り組みを歓迎する」とした一方で「ウクライナの平和への道は、ウクライナ抜きでは決められない」と指摘しました。
Before the summit, the leaders of European countries such as the UK, France, and Germany issued a joint statement on the 9th, saying, We welcome President Trumps efforts, while also pointing out that the path to peace in Ukraine cannot be decided without Ukraine.
その上で「国境を力で変更してはならないという原則に引き続きコミットしていく」として、首脳会談では、ロシアが主導する形でウクライナの領土をめぐる問題が一方的にアメリカと協議されないか警戒感を示しました。
On top of that, he stated, We remain committed to the principle that borders must not be changed by force, and expressed concern that, at the summit meeting, issues regarding Ukrainian territory might be unilaterally discussed between the United States and Russia, with Russia taking the lead.
また、アメリカの有力紙、「ウォール・ストリート・ジャーナル」は9日、領土をめぐる問題などを話し合う前にまずは停戦すべきだという案をヨーロッパ各国がアメリカ側に伝えたと報じています。
Furthermore, the influential American newspaper, The Wall Street Journal, reported on the 9th that several European countries have conveyed to the United States the idea that a ceasefire should be established before discussing issues such as territorial disputes.
