A cabinet minister from the Taliban’s interim government, the Islamist group in power in Afghanistan, responded to an NHK interview and emphasized their intention to break out of international isolation, spurred by Russia’s official recognition of the interim government last month—the first such recognition in the world.

2021年8月にアフガニスタンでタリバンが復権してから4年となったのに合わせて暫定政権の有力閣僚、ハニフ経済相が16日、首都カブールでNHKの単独インタビューに応じました。
In line with the four years since the Taliban regained power in Afghanistan in August 2021, Hanif, the acting Minister of Economy in the interim government, gave an exclusive interview to NHK in Kabul, the capital, on the 16th.
この中でハニフ経済相は、先月、ロシアが世界で初めてタリバンの暫定政権を正式に承認したことについて「政治的および経済的観点から大きなメリットをもたらす」と述べ、厳しい経済状況が続くなか、ロシアから投資や地下資源の開発などの経済協力が進むことに強い期待を示しました。
In this context, Minister of Economy Hanif stated that Russias formal recognition of the Talibans interim government last month—the first in the world—will bring significant benefits from a political and economic perspective. He expressed strong expectations that, amid the ongoing severe economic situation, economic cooperation such as investment and the development of underground resources from Russia will progress.
その上で「今後、ほかの国々にもわれわれの政権を承認するよう求めていく」と述べ、ロシアとの関係強化を弾みに国際社会からの孤立脱却をねらう姿勢を強調しました。
On top of that, he stated, From now on, we will also ask other countries to recognize our administration, emphasizing his intention to use the strengthening of relations with Russia as a springboard to break out of international isolation.
一方で、女性の教育や就労の権利を厳しく制限していることが日本や欧米諸国から問題視されていることについては「アフガニスタンでは女性の人権は侵害されていない。
On the other hand, regarding the criticism from Japan and Western countries about the severe restrictions on womens rights to education and employment, they stated, In Afghanistan, womens rights are not being violated.

They insisted that other countries should respect our position, and reiterated their previous stance that there are no obstacles to recognizing the interim government.
