North Korean General Secretary Kim Jong Un criticized the regular joint military exercises conducted by the U.S. and South Korean forces that began on the 18th, claiming, The security environment is becoming more serious, and it is demanding a radical expansion of our nuclear armament.
19日付けの北朝鮮の朝鮮労働党機関紙、「労働新聞」は、キム・ジョンウン総書記が、18日、ことし4月に進水した新型駆逐艦の兵器システムの運用試験などを視察したと伝えました。
The Workers Party of Koreas official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, dated the 19th, reported that General Secretary Kim Jong Un inspected the operational tests of the weapon systems of the new destroyer launched this April, among other things, on the 18th.
この中でキム総書記は、18日から始まったアメリカ軍と韓国軍による、朝鮮半島有事を想定した定例の合同軍事演習について、「明らかに戦争を挑発する意志の表れであり、地域の平和と安全環境を破壊する根源だ」と非難しました。

今回の米韓の合同軍事演習では、野外での機動訓練のおよそ半分が来月に延期されていて、北朝鮮との対話の再開を模索するイ・ジェミョン（李在明）政権が、配慮したものだとの指摘も出ています。
