The emergency brake, which detected an abnormality, was automatically activated due to some kind of malfunction in the train, and JR East is investigating the cause.
JR東日本によりますと、24日午後2時10分ごろ、東京駅発盛岡駅行きの「やまびこ63号」が埼玉県久喜市を走行中、自動的に非常ブレーキが作動して緊急停車しました。
According to JR East, at around 2:10 p.m. on the 24th, the Yamabiko No. 63 bound for Morioka Station from Tokyo Station made an emergency stop when the automatic emergency brake was activated while traveling through Kuki City, Saitama Prefecture.
「やまびこ63号」は「E5系」の10両編成で、その後、自力走行で栃木県の小山駅に移動させ、乗客およそ560人には後続の列車に乗り換えてもらう措置をとりました。
The Yamabiko No. 63 was a 10-car E5 series train. Afterwards, it was moved under its own power to Oyama Station in Tochigi Prefecture, and approximately 560 passengers were transferred to a following train.
東北新幹線は東京駅と盛岡駅の間でおよそ3時間にわたって運転を見合わせ、このトラブルで秋田新幹線や山形新幹線も含めてあわせて49本が運休するなど、およそ6万9000人に影響が出ました。
The Tohoku Shinkansen suspended operations for about three hours between Tokyo Station and Morioka Station, and due to this trouble, a total of 49 trains, including the Akita Shinkansen and Yamagata Shinkansen, were canceled, affecting approximately 69,000 people.
JR東日本によりますと、車両に何らかの故障が発生し、異常を検知した非常ブレーキが自動的に作動したということで、車両を小山駅近くの基地に移動させて原因を調べています。
According to JR East, some kind of malfunction occurred in the train, causing the emergency brakes, which detected the abnormality, to activate automatically. The train has been moved to a facility near Oyama Station to investigate the cause.
一方、東北新幹線は25日は始発から平常通り運行しています。
On the other hand, the Tohoku Shinkansen is operating as usual from the first train on the 25th.
