On the 1st, a 40-year-old woman was found collapsed and bleeding from her neck on a street in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo, and later died. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, shortly after 1:30 p.m. on the 1st, Ji-won Ban, a 40-year-old South Korean national living in Minato Ward, Tokyo, was found lying on the street bleeding in Nozawa, Setagaya Ward, Tokyo.

He was found with what appeared to be a knife wound on his neck, and although he was taken to the hospital, he later died.

There was a witness report that a man had fled the scene, and while the Metropolitan Police Department was searching for his whereabouts, it was discovered in the evening of the 1st that the suspect Park, who is believed to have escaped, was at Haneda Airport.

The Metropolitan Police Department arrested a suspect on suspicion of murder for killing a woman by slashing her with a knife and other means on the premises of an office near the scene where the woman was found collapsed.

The Metropolitan Police Department interviewed both parties, but since there was little objective evidence and the woman did not file a police report, nothing further was done.

For this reason, after providing crime prevention guidance, we took measures to evacuate the woman to a safe location unknown to the suspect.

However, on the following day, August 30, there was a 110 call reporting a suspicious person near the womans apartment. When police officers rushed to the scene, they found the suspect loitering around the apartment building.

The Metropolitan Police Department once again verbally instructed the suspect and urged them to return to South Korea, and says they watched until the suspect passed through the security checkpoint at Narita Airport around 1:00 p.m. on the 30th.

The incident occurred two days later, and it is said that the suspects whereabouts after passing through the security checkpoint were unknown.
