ミニストップでは、店内で調理するおにぎりや弁当、総菜で、消費期限を偽って表示していたことが明らかになっていて、会社は1日、不正が東京や大阪など7つの都府県の合わせて25店舗で確認されたと発表しました。
At Ministop, it has been revealed that expiration dates were falsely displayed on rice balls, bento boxes, and side dishes prepared in-store. On the 1st, the company announced that these violations were confirmed at a total of 25 stores in seven prefectures, including Tokyo and Osaka.
これらの店では、消費期限を先延ばししたラベルを貼り直したり、製造から時間がたった後にラベルを貼ったりして、消費期限を数時間ほど不正に延ばしたケースが多く、中には本来の消費期限を14時間超えたおにぎりが販売されていた店もあったということです。
At these stores, there were many cases where expiration date labels were replaced to extend the shelf life, or labels were applied long after production to illegally extend the expiration date by several hours. In some cases, rice balls were sold that had exceeded their original expiration date by more than 14 hours.
また、会社の調査に対し「3年前から不正が始まった」と証言した店もあったとしています。
There were also stores that testified to the company’s investigation, saying, “The fraud began three years ago.”
不正を行った理由については「食品の廃棄を減らして店の経費を少なくしたかった」とか、「朝に調理する予定のものを客が少ない時間帯に事前に作る方が都合がよかった」といった回答が多く、フランチャイズ店のオーナーの指示で不正を行っていたケースもあったということです。
Regarding the reasons for the misconduct, many responded that they wanted to reduce food waste and lower store expenses, or that it was more convenient to prepare items scheduled for morning cooking during less busy hours. There were also cases where the misconduct was carried out under instructions from franchise store owners.
堀田昌嗣社長は1日の会見で「安全が担保されないかぎりは販売の再開はできない」と述べたうえで、現在中止している店内で調理した商品の販売をいつ再開するか慎重に検討する考えを示しました。
