誕生日の
6日、「
成年式」に
臨まれます。
His Imperial Highness Prince Hisahito, the eldest son of Prince and Princess Akishino, will attend his Coming of Age Ceremony on the 6th, his 19th birthday.
皇室で男性皇族の成年式が行われるのは、父親の秋篠宮さまの時以来40年ぶりで、悠仁さまはまず、モーニングコートを着用し、お住まいの宮邸で天皇陛下の使いから冠を受け取る「冠を賜うの儀」に臨まれます。
It will be the first coming-of-age ceremony for a male member of the Imperial Family in 40 years, since his father, Prince Akishino. First, Prince Hisahito will wear a morning coat and take part in the Kan o tamou no gi at his residence, where he will receive a crown from an envoy of the Emperor.
そのあと午前10時から、皇居・殿">宮殿で、未成年の装束姿の悠仁さまが、天皇陛下から贈られた冠を身につけられる成年式の中心的な儀式「加冠の儀」が行われます。
After that, from 10 a.m., the central ceremony of the coming-of-age celebration, Kakan-no-gi, will be held at the Imperial Palaces palace, where Prince Hisahito, dressed in ceremonial attire as a minor, will don the crown presented by the Emperor.
儀式を終えたあとは成年の装束に着替え、儀装馬車で皇室の祖先などをまつる宮中三殿に移動し、拝礼されます。
After the ceremony, the attire is changed to that of an adult, and you are transported by a ceremonial carriage to the Three Palace Sanctuaries, where the imperial ancestors and others are enshrined, to pay your respects.
午後はえんび服姿となり、宮殿の「正殿松の間」で天皇皇后両陛下にあいさつする「朝見の儀」に臨み、その後「表御座">御座所」に移り、戦後男性皇族の成年式で授けられるのが恒例となっている「大勲位菊花大綬章」という勲章の親授式に臨まれます。
In the afternoon, he will don formal tailcoat attire and attend the “Choken-no-gi” ceremony in the “Shoden Matsu-no-ma” hall of the Imperial Palace, where he will greet Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress. Afterwards, he will move to the “Omote Gozasho” and participate in the investiture ceremony for the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Chrysanthemum, a decoration customarily bestowed upon adult male members of the Imperial Family since the postwar period.
このあと赤坂御用地にある上皇ご夫妻のお住まいを訪ねてあいさつし、夜はお身内を招いて都内のホテルで開かれる、私的な祝宴に出席されます。
After this, they will visit the residence of the Emperor Emeritus and Empress Emerita in the Akasaka Imperial Residence to greet them, and in the evening, they will attend a private celebratory banquet at a hotel in Tokyo, inviting close family members.
悠仁さまの成長を見守ってきた夫妻は
長野県に住むエリック・マクドナルドさんと直子さん夫妻は、秋篠宮ご一家">一家と静養先でハイキングやスキーをともにし、幼いころから悠仁さまの成長を見守ってきました。
Eric MacDonald and his wife Naoko, who live in Nagano Prefecture and have watched over Prince Hisahito’s growth, have gone hiking and skiing together with the Akishino family at their vacation spot, and have watched over Prince Hisahito’s growth since he was a child.
秋篠宮ご一家と夫妻の交流は、悠仁さまが小学生の時に始まりました。
The interaction between the Akishino family and the couple began when Prince Hisahito was in elementary school.
知人が経営していたスキーセンターに、秋篠宮ご一家が静養で訪ねられたことがきっかけだったということです。
It is said that it all started when the Akishino family visited the ski center run by an acquaintance for a vacation.
エリックさんは、悠仁さまの幼いころを振り返り「エネルギーの塊でした。
Mr. Eric looked back on Prince Hisahito’s childhood and said, “He was a bundle of energy.”
スキーセンターにいたときは、

Normally, people want to sleep in on their days off, but Prince Hisahito would always wake up by himself without oversleeping, and before breakfast, he would go out to catch dragonflies.
夫妻はことし3月、悠仁さまが18歳の成年にあたって初めて臨まれた記者会見の直後にも、ことばを交わしています。
The couple also exchanged words shortly after Prince Hisahito, at the age of 18, attended his first press conference as an adult this March.
エリックさんはそのときのやりとりについて「『すごく自信に満ちて見えたけど、どこからその自信が来たの』と尋ねると、悠仁さまは、『すべて書き出し、何度も何度も繰り返し練習した』とおっしゃっていました。
Eric said about the exchange at that time, I asked, You looked so confident, but where did that confidence come from? and His Imperial Highness Prince Hisahito said, I wrote everything out and practiced it over and over again.
