受賞しました。
One of the worlds three major film festivals, the Venice International Film Festival in Italy, announced its award-winning works on the 6th, and director Akio Fujimotos LOST LAND won the Special Jury Prize in the Orizzonti section, which features innovative works.
ことしで82回目を迎えたベネチア国際映画祭は最終日の6日、授賞式が行われ、藤元明緒監督の「LOST LAND/ロストランド」が革新的な作品を集めた「オリゾンティ部門」の審査員特別賞を受賞しました。
The 82nd Venice International Film Festival, held this year, concluded on the 6th with an awards ceremony, where director Akio Fujimotos LOST LAND received the Special Jury Prize in the Orizzonti section, which features innovative works.
この映画は迫害を受けるミャンマーのイスラム教徒の少数派、ロヒンギャの人々証言をもとに作られていて、無国籍の幼い姉弟が離れ離れになった家族との再会を願って、命懸けで国境を越えていく姿を描いています。
This film is based on the testimonies of the Rohingya, a persecuted Muslim minority in Myanmar, and depicts the story of young stateless siblings who risk their lives to cross borders, hoping to reunite with their separated family.
藤元監督は授賞式で「故郷も命も奪われ今も迫害に苦しむロヒンギャの人々、そして同じくミャンマーで苦境にさらされている人々に明るい未来が来るように本当に願っています」と話していました。
Director Fujimoto said at the award ceremony, I sincerely hope that a bright future will come for the Rohingya people, who have lost their homeland and lives and are still suffering from persecution, as well as for those who are facing hardships in Myanmar.
また映画祭で最も権威のあるコンペティション部門では、最優秀賞の金獅子賞に成長した子どもと親との微妙な距離感などを描いたアメリカのジム・ジャームッシュ監督の「Father Mother Sister Brother」が選ばれました。
In the most prestigious competition section of the film festival, the Golden Lion award for best film went to Father Mother Sister Brother, directed by American filmmaker Jim Jarmusch, which depicts the subtle sense of distance between grown children and their parents.
映画「LOST LAND/ロストランド」とは
「LOST LAND/ロストランド」は無国籍の幼い姉弟が家族と再会するために命懸けで国境を越え、生き抜いていく姿を描いたロードムービーです。
The movie LOST LAND is a road movie that depicts the story of stateless young siblings who risk their lives to cross borders and survive in order to reunite with their family.
物語はミャンマーで長年、迫害や差別を受けてきたロヒンギャの人たちの証言を元に作られたということで、主演の姉弟を含め200人を超えるロヒンギャの人たちが実際に出演しています。
The story is based on the testimonies of Rohingya people who have suffered persecution and discrimination in Myanmar for many years, and more than 200 Rohingya people, including the lead brother and sister, actually appear in the film.
監督の藤元明緒さんは今回が長編3作目で、ベトナム人技能実習生の苦悩を描いた前作の「海辺の彼女たち」で「新藤兼人賞」の金賞を受賞するなど、期待の若手映画監督です。
Director Akio Fujimoto is a promising young filmmaker, and this is his third feature film. His previous work, Along the Sea, which depicted the struggles of Vietnamese technical trainees, won the Gold Prize at the Kaneto Shindo Awards.
