The top uniformed official of NATO, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, responded to an interview with NHK and expressed concern that China, Russia, and North Korea demonstrated their unity during the military parade held in China on September 3. He emphasized that countries sharing common values, such as Western nations and Japan, should work together in response.
日本を訪れているNATOの制服組トップ、ドラゴーネ軍事委員長は6日、都内でNHKのインタビューに応じました。
The top uniformed officer of NATO, Military Committee Chairman Dragone, who is visiting Japan, gave an interview to NHK in Tokyo on the 6th.
この中でドラゴーネ委員長は9月3日に北京で行われた軍事パレードに中国の習近平国家主席、ロシアのプーチン大統領、北朝鮮のキム・ジョンウン（金正恩）総書記がそろって出席し結束を印象づけたことについて、ヨーロッパとインド太平洋地域の安全保障は不可分だとの考えを示し「懸念すべきことだ」と述べました。
In this context, Chairman Dragone expressed his view that security in Europe and the Indo-Pacific region is inseparable, regarding the fact that Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Putin, and North Korean General Secretary Kim Jong Un all attended the military parade held in Beijing on September 3, demonstrating their unity. He stated, This is a matter of concern.
そのうえで「われわれは抑止力、協力関係、そして同じ志を持っているという強いメッセージを発信し、立ち向かわなくてはならない」と述べ、欧米や日本など価値観を共有する国々が連携して対応すべきだと訴えました。
On top of that, he stated, We must send a strong message that we have deterrence, cooperative relationships, and share the same aspirations, and we must stand up to them, appealing that countries which share common values, such as those in the West and Japan, should work together in response.
またウクライナがNATOへの加盟を目指していることにロシアが強く反対し、和平に向けた進展が見られないことについては「いずれの国もどの国が友好国や同盟国で、どの国が競争相手なのか、自由に決めることができる」と述べるとともに、停戦を話し合う場ではなくウクライナとNATO加盟国との間で話し合う議題だと強調しました。
Russia has strongly opposed Ukraines aim to join NATO, and regarding the lack of progress toward peace, he stated, Any country should be free to decide which countries are friends or allies, and which are competitors. He also emphasized that this is not a matter to be discussed in a ceasefire negotiation, but rather a topic to be discussed between Ukraine and NATO member countries.
一方、ウクライナの戦況については「ロシアは払っている多大な命の犠牲に比べれば、得ている領土は小さい」と述べ、ウクライナ軍が持ちこたえているとの分析を示しました。
On the other hand, regarding the situation in Ukraine, he stated, Compared to the tremendous loss of life that Russia is paying, the territory they are gaining is small, indicating his analysis that the Ukrainian military is holding out.
