Before movements surrounding the Liberal Democratic Partys leadership election intensify, the Constitutional Democratic Partys Diet Affairs Committee chairpersons from both the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors requested the Liberal Democratic Party on the 8th to promptly convene an extraordinary session of the Diet.

On the 9th, the Diet Affairs Committee Chairpersons of the opposition parties will meet and confirm their policy to demand the early convening of an extraordinary Diet session, stating that it is unacceptable for a political vacuum to be prolonged due to the LDP presidential election and that it is necessary to urgently discuss measures such as those against rising prices.

On the other hand, regarding the Prime Ministers designation election to be held in the Diet after the next president of the Liberal Democratic Party is decided, Constitutional Democratic Party leader Noda said, It is important to discuss whether the opposition parties can cooperate on a larger scale.
