発表しました。
Mitsubishi Electric, a major electronics manufacturer that has posted record-high profits for two consecutive years, announced that it will be soliciting voluntary early retirement from employees aged 53 and over.
若手の割合を増やして会社の成長につなげるねらいで、業績の悪化に伴う経営合理化とは異なる理由で、人員の削減に踏み切る動きが相次いでいます。
With the aim of increasing the proportion of younger employees to drive company growth, there is a growing trend of companies reducing staff for reasons different from streamlining management due to deteriorating business performance.
三菱電機は8日、来年3月15日の時点で53歳以上で勤続3年以上の正社員と定年後の再雇用者を対象に希望退職を募集すると発表しました。
Mitsubishi Electric announced on the 8th that it will be accepting applications for voluntary retirement from regular employees who are 53 years old or older with at least three years of service, as well as rehired employees after retirement, as of March 15 next year.
対象はおよそ4万2000人の従業員のうちおよそ1万人で、募集人数は定めないとしています。
The target is about 10,000 out of approximately 42,000 employees, and there is no set number of recruits.
応募した従業員には通常の退職金に特別加算を支給するほか、希望に応じて外部の専門会社を通じた再就職の支援を行うということです。
In addition to providing a special bonus on top of the regular retirement allowance to employees who apply, the company will also offer reemployment support through an external specialist firm if desired.
三菱電機はデータセンターや防衛関連の事業が好調で、グループ全体の最終利益は2年連続で過去最高となり、今年度はさらに上回ると見込んでいます。
Mitsubishi Electric’s data center and defense-related businesses are performing well, resulting in record-high net profits for the group for the second consecutive year, and profits are expected to surpass this again in the current fiscal year.
ただ、会社の人員構成はシニア社員の割合が大きく、会社としては希望退職の募集で人員構成の偏りをなくし、若手の割合を増やして中長期的な成長につなげるねらいです。
However, the company has a high proportion of senior employees. By offering voluntary retirement, the company aims to balance its workforce structure, increase the percentage of younger employees, and achieve medium- to long-term growth.
希望退職の募集は業績の悪化に伴う経営合理化の一環で行われてきましたが、最近では業績が好調でも人員構成の見直しや業務のデジタル化などを理由に踏み切る動きが相次いでいます。
