Amidst this situation, regarding Mayor Takubo showing a document said to be a diploma to the chairperson and vice-chairperson this June, today the chairperson and others submitted a criminal complaint to the police against the mayor on suspicion of using a forged private document with a seal, claiming that it was forged to make it appear as if he had graduated from Toyo University.

The city council stated that there was no such thing as a quick glance regarding the situation where the mayor refused to appear for witness questioning or submit documents considered to be diplomas to the Article 100 Committee, as well as the situation in which documents considered to be diplomas were shown.

Regarding the testimony that he showed it for about 2 seconds, a criminal complaint has been filed on suspicion of violating the Local Autonomy Act, claiming it is false, and it has already been accepted.

The deadline for Mayor Takubo, who has received a vote of no confidence, to choose whether to dissolve the council or resign/lose his position is approaching on the 11th, and how he will respond is now the focus of attention.

Chairman: “Accusation made with the unanimous consent of all city council members.” Mr. Hiromichi Nakajima, chairman of the Ito City Council, who submitted the complaint, stated, “I felt that we must do what needs to be done properly, so I filed the accusation with the consent of all the other city council members.”

Also, regarding the deadline of the 11th for making a choice after the no-confidence resolution, Deputy Speaker Takahiro Aoki said, It would be best if the mayor resigned, but all the council members think that dissolving the assembly without just cause would be meaningless.
