The Democratic Party for the People, with an eye on the next House of Representatives election, has decided on new personnel appointments such as the head of the election strategy committee, aiming to strengthen not only its SNS strategy but also steady grassroots activities in local areas.
国民民主党は16日、党役員人事を行い、榛葉幹事長などは留任させる一方、新たに、▼選挙対策委員長には村岡敏英衆議院議員を▼地方組織を統括する組織委員長には浅野哲衆議院議員を起用しました。
On the 16th, the Democratic Party for the People made personnel changes among party executives, retaining Secretary-General Shinba and others, while newly appointing House of Representatives member Toshihide Muraoka as Chairman of the Election Strategy Committee and House of Representatives member Satoshi Asano as Chairman of the Organization Committee overseeing local organizations.
このうち、村岡氏は、衆議院秋田3区の選出で、かつて官房長官や自民党の国会対策委員長などを歴任した父、兼造氏の秘書を務めていました。
Of these, Mr. Muraoka served as the secretary to his father, Mr. Kanzo, who was elected from Akitas 3rd district in the House of Representatives and had previously held positions such as Chief Cabinet Secretary and Chairman of the LDPs Diet Affairs Committee.
起用の狙いについて党幹部は、「父親の選挙のやり方も知っているので、『風』ではない『地上戦』の地道な選挙の戦い方を党に根付かせてもらいたい」と話しています。
Regarding the aim of his appointment, a party executive said, “Since he also knows how his father ran elections, we want him to help instill in the party a steady, ground-level approach to election campaigns, not just relying on the ‘wind’.”
国民民主党は参議院議員1人が入党し、所属議員が衆参両院であわせて50人となりました。
The Democratic Party for the People has gained one new member in the House of Councillors, bringing the total number of its members in both the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors to 50.
次の衆議院選挙で51議席を獲得する目標の達成に向けて、SNS戦略と並行して、地元での後援会活動なども強化させたい考えです。
In parallel with our SNS strategy, we also intend to strengthen local support group activities in order to achieve our goal of winning 51 seats in the next House of Representatives election.
一方、立憲民主党も16日、次の衆議院選挙に向けて総合選挙対策本部を設置しました。

そして、▼本部長の野田代表をサポートする本部長代理に岡田元幹事長を、また、▼特別参与として、枝野・元代表と泉・前代表の2人をあてることを決めました。
It was also decided that former Secretary General Okada will serve as Deputy Director-General to support Director-General Noda, and that two people, former Representative Edano and former Representative Izumi, will be appointed as Special Advisors.
