Korean media report that a lawmaker is suspected of having received illegal political funds from a former executive of the former Unification Church, and investigations into the church, including its top officials, are expected to proceed in the future.
韓国で政府から独立して捜査する特別検察官は、ユン・ソンニョル前大統領のキム・ゴニ（金建希）夫人について、旧統一教会＝世界平和統一家庭連合の元幹部から高級ブランドのバッグを受け取ったなどとして、あっせん収賄などの罪で月">先月起訴しました。
In South Korea, a special prosecutor independent from the government indicted former President Yoon Suk-yeol’s wife, Kim Keon-hee, last month on charges including bribery, for allegedly accepting a luxury brand bag from a former executive of the former Unification Church Family Federation for World Peace and Unification.
韓国メディアは、ユン前大統領に近いクォン・ソンドン（権性東）議員が、この元幹部から、2022年の大統領選挙の前に違法な政治資金として1億ウォン、日本">日本円で1000万円余りを受け取っていた疑いがあると伝えています。
Korean media reports that Kwon Seong-dong, a lawmaker close to former President Yoon, is suspected of having received 100 million won—over 10 million yen in Japanese currency—as illegal political funds from this former executive before the 2022 presidential election.
クォン氏は、大統領選挙が行われたことし6月まで、保守系与党だった「国民の力」で国会運営を取りしきる院内代表を務めた大物議員です。
Mr. Kwon is a prominent lawmaker who served as the floor leader overseeing parliamentary operations for the conservative ruling party People Power Party until June this year, when the presidential election was held.
特別検察官は16日、逮捕状をとったと発表し、韓国メディアはクォン氏が逮捕されたと報じました。
On the 16th, the special prosecutor announced that an arrest warrant had been obtained, and South Korean media reported that Mr. Kwon had been arrested.
この事件をめぐっては、旧統一教会のハン・ハクチャ（韓鶴子）総裁も関与していた疑惑が持たれています。
There are also suspicions that Han Hak-ja, the president of the former Unification Church, was involved in this case.
ハン総裁側は、これまで特別検察官からの3回にわたる出頭要請に応じてきませんでしたが、17日にも出頭する意向を示し、今後は教団側への捜査が進む見通しです。
President Hans side had not responded to the three previous summonses from the special prosecutor, but has indicated an intention to appear as early as the 17th. It is expected that the investigation into the religious group will proceed from now on.
