The Liberal Democratic Party presidential election is scheduled to be officially announced next week on the 22nd, and Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi will hold a press conference on the afternoon of the 18th to formally announce his candidacy.

Mr. Hayashi stated, I want to use all of my experience and achievements to work for this country. On the 18th, he plans to demonstrate his intention to continue the policies of the Ishiba administration and to explain economic policy, as well as foreign and security policies.

Also, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Koizumi met with Prime Minister Ishiba on the 17th and conveyed his intention to run for office.
