The Estonian government, which shares a border with Russia, announced that three Russian military aircraft had violated its airspace and revealed that it had requested NATO member countries to discuss a response.
バルト三国の1つでロシアと国境を接するエストニア政府は19日、ロシア軍のミグ31戦闘機3機が19日の朝にバルト海の上空付近で12分間にわたって領空を侵犯したと発表しました。
On the 19th, the Estonian government, one of the Baltic states that borders Russia, announced that three Russian MiG-31 fighter jets violated its airspace over the Baltic Sea for 12 minutes in the morning of the 19th.
NATOの加盟国であるイタリアの戦闘機が対応し、その後、ロシア軍の戦闘機は領空の外へ出たということです。
Italian fighter jets, which belong to a NATO member country, responded, and afterward, the Russian military aircraft left the airspace.
エストニア政府は、領土の保全や安全が脅かされているとして、NATOの加盟国に対して北大西洋条約第4条に基づいて対応を協議するよう要請したと明らかにしました。
The Estonian government has revealed that, citing threats to its territorial integrity and security, it has requested NATO member countries to discuss a response based on Article 4 of the North Atlantic Treaty.
NATOは来週前半に意思決定機関にあたる北大西洋理事会を開くとしています。
NATO will convene the North Atlantic Council, its decision-making body, in the first half of next week.

Russia is increasing attempts to challenge the borders and becoming more aggressive, so political and economic pressure on Russia should be strengthened, the statement said.
ウクライナのゼレンスキー大統領もSNSへの投稿で「不安定化させようとするロシアの試みは、ほかの国々へと拡大している」とロシアを非難しました。
Ukrainian President Zelensky also criticized Russia in a social media post, saying, Russias attempts to destabilize are spreading to other countries.
ロシアによる領空侵犯をめぐっては、今月、無人機19機がポーランドの領空を侵犯したばかりで、NATOは追加で航空機をヨーロッパ東部に配備するなど、防空態勢を強化しています。
Regarding airspace violations by Russia, just this month, 19 drones violated Polish airspace, and NATO is strengthening its air defense posture by deploying additional aircraft to Eastern Europe.
