Ukrainian President Zelensky has announced that he will visit the United States to meet with President Trump in conjunction with his general debate speech at the UN General Assembly starting on September 23, and has expressed his intention to exchange views on security guarantees for Ukraine after a ceasefire is achieved with Russia.
複数のウクライナメディアによりますと、ゼレンスキー大統領は、19日に記者団に対し、国連総会で各国の首脳らによる一般討論演説が今月23日から始まるのに合わせてアメリカのニューヨークを訪問してトランプ大統領と会談すると明らかにしました。
According to multiple Ukrainian media outlets, President Zelensky announced to reporters on the 19th that he will visit New York, USA, to meet with President Trump in conjunction with the start of the general debate speeches by world leaders at the UN General Assembly, which will begin on the 23rd of this month.
その上で、首脳会談では「パートナーによる安全の保証が、われわれが必要とするものにどれだけ近づいたのか、シグナルを得たい」として、ロシアとの停戦実現後のウクライナへの「安全の保証」をめぐって意見を交わしたいという考えを示しました。
On top of that, he stated that at the summit, he wants to get a sense of how close the security guarantees from our partners have come to what we need, expressing his intention to exchange views on security guarantees for Ukraine after a ceasefire with Russia is achieved.
ゼレンスキー大統領がトランプ大統領と会談するのは、8月18日のワシントンでの会談に続くもので、前回は、トランプ大統領が、アメリカとしてヨーロッパとともにウクライナへの「安全の保証」に関与していく意向を示していることから、具体的な進展があるかが焦点となります。
President Zelenskys meeting with President Trump follows their talks in Washington on August 18. In the previous meeting, President Trump expressed his intention for the United States, together with Europe, to be involved in providing security guarantees to Ukraine, so the focus will be on whether there will be any concrete progress.
