In response to this, the Seoul District Court held a hearing on the 22nd to determine whether to approve the arrest, and Korean media report that President Han denied any involvement.

The special prosecutor believes that the former Unification Church tried to approach people close to former President Yoon in order to expand the churchs influence, and there is growing interest in the direction of the upcoming investigation.

Expert: This will lead to the weakening of the organization. Regarding the arrest of Han Hak-ja, the president of the former Unification Church, Professor Tak Ji-il of Busan Jangshin University, an expert on religious issues in South Korea, analyzed the future of the organization, saying, No matter how capable the number two is, it is hard to imagine the organization without President Han, and I believe this will lead to the weakening of the organization.

On top of that, the former Unification Church still has sufficient financial resources.

There will likely be a financial blow, but whether it will be fatal is questionable.

And he said, It would probably be difficult to take measures regarding dissolution in South Korea like they do in Japan.

On the other hand, it is stated that the Japanese branch is particularly strongly influenced by President Han, and it is pointed out that the arrest of President Han may also have an impact on the former Unification Church in Japan.
