The government has decided to provide more than 800 million yen in grant aid to support medical care in areas such as Gaza, Palestine, where a humanitarian crisis is worsening due to children and women being unable to receive medical treatment.

Since the fighting between the Israeli military and the Islamic organization Hamas began in October the year before last in Palestine, it has become especially difficult for vulnerable people such as children and women in the Gaza Strip to access medical services and medicines, leading to a worsening humanitarian crisis.

日本政府は
現地の
医療を
支援するため、パレスチナに
対し
8億6000万円余りの
無償資金協力を
行うことを
決めました。
In this context, the Japanese government has decided to provide over 860 million yen in grant aid to Palestine to support local medical care.

住民を
対象にした
医療サービスの
提供や、サービスに
必要な
資機材の
供与、

医療施設の
修繕などに
充てるということです。
The funds will be used, in cooperation with the WHO World Health Organization, to provide medical services to residents of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, supply necessary equipment and materials for these services, and repair medical facilities.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs states, It is expected to contribute to the stabilization of peoples livelihoods in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank based on human security.
