President Trump emphasized that the safety of data and other information could be ensured under the new framework, and indicated that the major IT company Oracle would play a significant role in business operations.
トランプ大統領が25日、署名した大統領令によりますと、TikTokのアメリカ国内の事業はアメリカに拠点を置く新たな合弁会社によって運営され、アメリカ人が過半数の株式を所有する一方、中国の運営会社と関連会社の出資比率は20％未満にとどまるとしています。
According to the executive order signed by President Trump on the 25th, TikToks business in the United States will be operated by a new joint venture based in the U.S., with a majority of shares owned by Americans, while the investment ratio of the Chinese operating company and its affiliates will be kept below 20%.
その上で、アプリで表示される内容の順序などを決めるアルゴリズムの運用などは新たな会社が管理し、アメリカの利用者のデータもアメリカ企業が運営するクラウドでの保存が義務づけられるとして、国民のデータと国家安全保障は適切に守られるとしています。
On top of that, the new company will manage the operation of algorithms that determine the order of content displayed in the app, and it will be mandatory for American users data to be stored on cloud services operated by American companies. This is intended to ensure that citizens data and national security are properly protected.
署名に同席したバンス副大統領は、TikTokのアメリカ国内の事業価値がおよそ140億ドル、日本円で2兆円あまりにのぼるという見方を示しました。
Vice President Vance, who was present at the signing, expressed the view that the value of TikToks business in the United States amounts to approximately 14 billion dollars, or just over 2 trillion yen.
