In the early hours of the 5th, there was a fire at a ryokan in Kinosaki Onsen, a hot spring town in Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture.

According to the fire department, the fire was mostly extinguished about three and a half hours later, but one employee was injured and taken to the hospital.

At around 3 a.m. on the 5th, a report was made to the fire department in Kinosaki-cho Yushima, Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture, stating that flames can be seen.

According to the fire department and others, a fire broke out at a ryokan building in the hot spring resort area and then spread to nearby souvenir shops and other places. Eight fire engines and the local fire brigade responded to extinguish the fire, and it was almost completely put out about three and a half hours later.

One employee of the inn was injured in the fire and taken to the hospital, but they are conscious.

There were about 40 guests staying at this inn, but all of them evacuated safely.

According to Kansai Electric Power Transmission and Distribution, about 130 households in the area around the site have been experiencing a power outage since around 4 a.m.

The site is located in the center of Kinosaki Onsen, one of the leading hot spring resorts in the Kansai region, where many inns and other accommodations are lined up.

A man who witnessed the incident said, I never thought it would turn out like this. The man who saw the fire said, I heard the fire truck sirens just before 3 a.m.

At first, we couldnt tell where the fire was, and it seemed like the firefighters didnt know where to spray water, so I never imagined it would turn out like this.

Since it was a long holiday, I think there were probably a lot of guests staying.
