Government to present People’s Honor Award to Shingo Kunieda, wheelchair tennis player
Shingo Kunieda, who retired from wheelchair tennis in January this year, won four major tennis tournaments and the Paralympic Games, creating a record called the ”Golden Slam.”
The government said, ”Kunieda made a record that no one had ever done before and spread parasports to society.
”I hope that this award will become a source of courage and hope for parasports athletes and people with disabilities.
I want to create a society where all kinds of people can live together.”
