This woman was using a city service to have meals delivered to her home.
この女性は、家に食事を届けてもらう市のサービスを利用していました
The company delivering them had promised the city that they would make sure the women were well.
However, the person who came to deliver it did not check to see if there was a problem, even though the woman did not respond.
The person who came to deliver it the next day also did not confirm that the woman was well.
The city apologized to the woman’s family.
In Sapporo, about 2,300 people use this service.

The city told the 11 firms it has hired to do this work to be sure to check to see if the elderly are doing well.
