Deaf student takes pride in a life with sign language.
高校生の作文のコンクールで、奥田桂世さんが1番になりました
In a high school student essay competition, Keiyo Okuda won first place.
The competition had more than 80 thousand entries.
Okuda is a student a a school for the deaf in China-Ken.
In Okuda’s essay about those who can’t hear: ”although the number is small, sign language uses important words and being able to see and feel things is important for those living this life.
I have pride.” They wrote.
In regards to how to being refered to as a disabled person, Okuda wrote: ”For myself and other people, we might feel no issue with it or we might hate it as it makes us feel like there isn’t a bright future for us.
The importance of how differing people and everyone else all live in the same world needs to be considered.”
奥田さんは手話で「自分の気持ちをたくさんの人に伝えることができて、うれしくなりました」と話していました
In sign language, Okuda said: ”It made me really happy that I am able to convey my good feelings to lots of people.”
