アメリカの大手新聞社「ニューヨーク・タイムズ」は、記事の無断使用が著作権侵害にあたるとして「チャットGPT」を開発したオープンAIと、提携先のマイクロソフトを提訴しました。　
The New York Times, a major U.S. newspaper, has filed a lawsuit against Open AI, the developer of "Chat GPT," and its partner Microsoft, claiming that unauthorized use of its articles constitutes copyright infringement. 　
訴状などによりますと、ニューヨーク・タイムズは数百万件の記事が「チャットGPT」などのAIの学習用に使用され、著作権が侵害されたと主張しています。　
According to the complaint and other documents, the New York Times alleges that millions of articles were used to train "ChatGPT" and other AIs, and that their copyrights were infringed.
また、オープンAIとマイクロソフトに対して「記事を無断使用し、対価も支払っていない」「ジャーナリズムへの巨額の投資にただ乗りしようといている」と批判しています。　
They also criticize Open AI and Microsoft for "using articles without permission and not paying for them" and "trying to take advantage of a huge investment in journalism. 　
ニューヨーク・タイムズは損害は数十億ドル、日本円で数千億円に上るとしていますが、具体的な損害賠償の金額は明記していません。
The New York Times estimated the damage to be up to billions of dollars, or hundreds of billions of Japanese yen, but did not specify the exact damage figure.
また、アメリカの大手メディアが生成AIの開発企業を提訴するのは初めてだとしています。
In addition, this is the first time a major American media company has filed a lawsuit against an AI development company.
