マイクロソフトとアメリカの研究機関が9日、共同で発表したのは既存のリチウムイオン電池よりも破裂しにくい新たなバッテリー素材です。　
Microsoft and a U.S. research institute jointly announced on the 9th a new battery material that is more resistant to rupture than existing lithium-ion batteries.
研究チームはAIと量子コンピュータを使って計算し、3260万ある候補の中からこの素材を探し出すことに成功しました。　
The research team used AI and a quantum computer to calculate and successfully find this material out of 32.6 million candidates.
従来の方法であれば約20年かかるものが、わずか数日で終わったそうです。　
What would have taken about 20 years using conventional methods was done in just a few days.
リチウムイオン電池は機器の衝撃や過度な熱で発火の危険性があります。　
Lithium-ion batteries have the risk of catching fire due to impact from the device or excessive heat.
発見された新素材はリチウムの一部がナトリウムに置き換わっていて、安全性も向上していますが、実用化にはさらなる研究が必要だということです。　
The newly discovered material partially replaces lithium with sodium, making it safer, but more research is needed before it can be put to practical use.
