寒いこの時期、鍋に欠かせないあの食材が可愛らしいサイズに育ちました。

「手乗り白菜」と銘打った小さな白菜を作ったのは、家庭菜園が趣味のまつもとさん。
Mr. Matsumoto, who has a hobby of gardening, made small cabbage plants called "Chinese Cabbage in Hands".
まつもとさんは畑に植えるために購入した白菜の苗が一つだけ余ってしまったためプランターに植えたところ、わずか11センチほどの白菜ができたということです。　
Matsumoto had a Chinese cabbage seedling that he bought to grow in the field, and when he planted it in a pot, a Chinese cabbage only 11 cm long was born.
本来の時期よりも作付けが遅れたことやプランターの土に小石が多く、根が十分に張らなかったことなどが影響しているのではないかとまつもとさんは話しています。　
Mr. Matsumoto said that the fact that the planting was planted later than the original time and there was a lot of gravel in the soil, the roots were not developed enough, so the cabbage was affected.
収穫した手乗り白菜は丸ごと鍋に入れて食べることにしているそうです。
