広島での

小説で
知られる
作家の
原民喜が、
交流のあった
作家の
佐藤春夫に
宛てた
遺書が
見つかりました。
A suicide note written by the author Tamiki Hara, known for his novels about his experience of the atomic bombing in Hiroshima, and addressed to his fellow writer Haruo Sato with whom he had a relationship, has been found.

Experts say this is a valuable discovery that suggests Hara deeply trusted Sato, who had recognized his potential.
原民喜は広島で被爆した自身の体験をつづった小説「夏の花」をはじめ、多くの小説や詩を残しましたが、1951年、45歳でみずから命を絶ちました。
Hara Tamiki, who left behind many novels and poems including Summer Flowers, a novel based on his own experience of the atomic bombing in Hiroshima, took his own life in 1951 at the age of 45.
原は親族や友人に合わせて17通の遺書を書いていたことが知られていますが、去年10月、実践女子大学が関係者から寄贈を受けた資料を調べたところ、このうち見つかっていなかった佐藤春夫に宛てた遺書が含まれているのを見つけました。
It is known that Hara wrote 17 farewell letters addressed to relatives and friends, but last October, when Jissen Womens University examined materials donated by people involved, they found that among them was the farewell letter addressed to Haruo Sato, which had not been found until then.
遺書には「私は誰とも さりげなく別れて行きたいのです 御親身にしていただいたことを ほんとうに うれしく思ひます」と書かれ、詩が添えられています。
The will says, I want to part quietly from everyone. I am truly grateful for your kindness, and a poem is attached.
詩は、「碑銘」という題で発表され、広島の原爆ドームの前に建てられた碑に刻まれているものだということです。
The poem was published under the title Epitaph, and it is said to be inscribed on a monument erected in front of the Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Dome.
佐藤は原と雑誌「三田文学」を通じて交流を深め、作家としての原を見いだした存在で、調査に当たった東京大学の河野龍也准教授は「遺書からは原が佐藤を尊敬し、深く信頼していたことがうかがえ、貴重な発見だ。
Sato deepened his relationship with Hara through the magazine Mita Bungaku and was the one who discovered Hara as a writer. Associate Professor Tatsuya Kono of the University of Tokyo, who conducted the investigation, said, From the will, we can see that Hara respected and deeply trusted Sato, which is a valuable discovery.
