On the night of the 13th of this month, in the incident where many visitors had difficulty returning home due to the suspension of subway service connecting to the Osaka-Kansai Expo venue, the Expo Association revealed that the number of people who remained inside the venue until the following morning, including staff, exceeded 10,000.
今月13日、大阪・関西万博の会場につながる唯一の地下鉄が、万博の営業時間の終了直前に運転を見合わせた影響で多くの来場者が帰宅困難になり、代わりの交通手段の確保や会場で一夜を過ごす人への対応の遅れが課題となりました。
On the 13th of this month, due to the suspension of operations of the only subway line connecting to the Osaka-Kansai Expo venue just before the end of the Expos operating hours, many visitors had difficulty returning home. Securing alternative transportation and responding to people who had to spend the night at the venue became issues due to delayed measures.
博覧会協会は22日、記者会見を開き、地下鉄が止まった時点で会場周辺にとどまっていた人が、スタッフを含めて推計でおよそ4万9000人、翌日の朝まで会場内に滞在した人が、およそ1万1000人にのぼったことを明らかにしました。
The Expo Association held a press conference on the 22nd and announced that, when the subway stopped, there were an estimated 49,000 people, including staff, remaining around the venue, and about 11,000 people stayed inside the venue until the next morning.
また、今後の改善策として、公共交通機関が止まった場合は災害対策本部を設置することや、深夜帯は会場内にとどまることを推奨し滞在できる施設を確保すること、会場の夢洲の隣の舞洲に徒歩で移動し、車で迎えに来てもらえるようにすることなどを決めました。
As future improvement measures, it was decided to establish a disaster response headquarters in case public transportation is suspended, to recommend that people remain inside the venue during late-night hours and secure facilities where they can stay, and to allow people to walk to Maishima, which is next to Yumeshima, so they can be picked up by car.
博覧会協会の高科淳副事務総長は「今回は災害並みの対応を行うことにしたが、協会内の周知が不十分だった。
Jun Takashina, Deputy Secretary-General of the Expo Association, said, This time, we decided to respond as if it were a disaster, but the information was not sufficiently shared within the association.

述べました。
