The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries conducted a survey on 14 domestically produced food items, including rice and beef, regarding some substances classified as harmful organic fluorine compounds known as PFAS. The results showed that even if people consume these foods as part of an average diet, the levels do not exceed the guidelines set by the national Food Safety Commission. The ministry published an estimate stating that there is no situation in which health effects would occur.

The Food Safety Commission of Japan has provided guidelines for the amount of two types of PFAS—PFOS and PFOA—that can be consumed daily without causing health problems, as some PFAS substances have been pointed out to be harmful.

含まれるPFASの
調査結果を
公表しました。
The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries announced the results of a survey conducted last fiscal year on PFAS contained in domestically produced agricultural products at an expert meeting held on the 28th.
によりましてと、
調査の
対象となったのは、
▽コメやキャベツなどの
農産物4品目▽
牛肉や
牛乳、それに
卵などの
畜産物5品目▽マイワシやアユなどの
水産物5品目の
あわせて
14品目で、
それぞれ30点以上を
調査しました。
調査結果をもとにPFASの
摂取量を
試算したところ、
平均的な
食生活でこれらの
食品を
食べても
毎日の
摂取量の
目安を
上回ることはなく「
健康影響が
生じる
状況にないと
考えられる」としています。
Based on the survey results, an estimate of PFAS intake was calculated, and it was found that even with an average diet including these foods, the daily intake guideline would not be exceeded. Therefore, it is considered that there is no situation in which health effects would occur.
そのうえで
一部の
食品では、
含まれる
量にばらつきがあったことから、
農林水産省はさらなる
実態の
把握や
原因の
調査を
進めることにしていて、
今年度は
新たに
23品目を
追加して
調査を
続けるとしています。
On top of that, since there was variation in the amount contained in some foods, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has decided to further investigate the actual situation and the causes, and this fiscal year, they will continue the survey by adding 23 new items.
