国民文化祭」と「
全国障害者芸術・
文化祭」の
開会式に
臨まれます。
Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress, who are visiting Nagasaki Prefecture, will attend the opening ceremonies of the National Cultural Festival and the National Festival of Arts and Culture for People with Disabilities in Sasebo City on the 14th.
両陛下は長女の愛子さまを伴い、12日から長崎県を訪問していて、13日は午前中長崎市内の養護ホームを訪れて、高齢の被爆者と懇談されました。
Their Majesties, accompanied by their eldest daughter Princess Aiko, have been visiting Nagasaki Prefecture since the 12th. On the 13th, they visited a nursing home in Nagasaki City in the morning and spoke with elderly atomic bomb survivors.
愛子さまはそのあと東京に戻られ、両陛下は午後、市内の美術館で、障害がある作家の作品およそ400点を集めた展示会をご覧になり、知的障害がある作家たちとことばを交わされました。
Princess Aiko then returned to Tokyo, and Their Majesties, in the afternoon, visited an art museum in the city to view an exhibition featuring approximately 400 works by artists with disabilities, and spoke with artists with intellectual disabilities.
両陛下は13日夜、側近を通して感想を寄せ、養護ホームでの懇談について「私たちと一緒に愛子も熱心に耳を傾けて入所者の方々のお話を伺っており、みなさんが経験された大変な苦難の一端に触れることを通じて、戦争の悲惨さや平和の大切さについて思いを新たにしたものと思います」と述べられました。
Their Majesties conveyed their thoughts through their aides on the night of the 13th, stating about the conversation at the care home: “Aiko listened attentively together with us to the stories of the residents, and by coming into contact with a part of the great hardships everyone experienced, we believe she renewed her awareness of the tragedy of war and the importance of peace.”
両陛下は14日午前、佐世保市の体育文化館を訪れ、小学生から高校生までの地元のダンスチームが、伝統の秋祭り「長崎くんち」をテーマにしたダンスを練習している様子をご覧になります。
Their Majesties will visit the Sasebo City Sports and Culture Hall on the morning of the 14th to observe local dance teams, ranging from elementary to high school students, practicing a dance themed on the traditional autumn festival Nagasaki Kunchi.
午後には市内のホールで開かれる「国民文化祭」と「全国障害者芸術・文化祭」の開会式に臨み、夜には東京に戻られる予定です。
