Hokkaido Welcome tourists from Korea arrived at the airport.
北海道には韓国からたくさんの人が観光に来ます
A lot of people from Korea come to Hokkaido for sightseeing.
However, after the relationship between Japan and Korea worsened, some planes did not fly between Hokkaido and Korea.
Hokkaido is worried that fewer people will come from Korea.
For this reason, staffs from Hokkaido and other places decided to welcome Koreans at the airport.
On the 19th at New Chitose Airport, staff members welcome people arrived by plane from South Korea with a curtain in (Japanese and) Korean written “Welcome to Hokkaido”.
And, while saying Hello in Korean, they passed round fan and Hokkaido melon jelly etc..

A young Korean man said, I didn't want to stop coming to Japan.
I'm glad to be welcomed.
A staff member in Hokkaido said, “I want everyone in Korea to feel safe going to Hokkaido.”
