Twin polar bears were born at the Toledo Zoo in the Midwestern state of Ohio, and a live video of the breeding room has been released.
According to the Toledo Zoo announcement on Instagram, it is the first time in 10 years that a baby polar bear has been born at the zoo.
The twins were born on the 1st of this month between a 24-year-old female ”Krystal” and an 18-year-old male ”Nuka”.
Gender not yet known
Although it is expected to open to the public in the spring of next year, the nursery is showing live video of the parent and child from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm every day.
The Crystal and Nuka pair was established in response to the proposals of researchers working on breeding in zoos to protect wild animals from extinction.
The twins in the live video are still small, but when the polar bears grow up, their weight reaches about 360-590 kg for males and about 140-320 kg for females.
