According to UNICEF, in 2020 240.000 babies passed away within 28 days after birth in Africa.

多おおくの赤あかちゃんは、ワクチンの注射ちゅうしゃなどをしっかりしていたら、助たすけることができます

Many babies can be helped if they are prepared for vaccinations.

NECと長崎大学ながさきだいがくは、ケニアの研究所けんきゅうしょと一緒いっしょに、赤あかちゃんの指紋しもんでワクチンを注射ちゅうしゃしたかどうかなどを調しらべるシステムをつくりました

NEC and Nagasaki University, together with a research institute in Kenya have created a system to check whether a baby has been vaccinated by checking their fingerprints.

このシステムでは、生うまれた日ひに赤あかちゃんの指紋しもんを登録とうろくします

In this system a baby’s fingerprint is registered on the day they are born.

赤あかちゃんは指紋しもんがはっきりしていないため、お母かあさんの声こえも一緒いっしょに登録とうろくします

Because the baby’s fingerprints are unclear the mother’s voice is also registered.

指紋しもんとお母かあさんの声こえでチェックする技術ぎじゅつを使つかって、注射ちゅうしゃした日ひなどを医者いしゃが簡単かんたんに知しることができます

Using technology to ckeck the fingerprint and mother’s voice, the doctor can easily know the date of the injection etc.

NECなどは、去年きょねんの秋あきから実験じっけんを始はじめていて、今年ことしの終おわりまでにケニアで使つかい始はじめる予定よていです

The NEC and others have been experimenting with it since last year in autumn and plan to start using it in Kenya by the end of this year.

将来しょうらいはほかの国くにでも使つかってもらいたいと考かんがえています

They are thinking of also using it in other countries in the near future.
