アメリカのIT大手メタは、なりすましなどを防ぐためにフェイスブックなどのアカウントで有料の認証マークの導入を今週から始めると明らかにしました。
メタのCEO、マーク・ザッカーバーグ氏によりますと、運転免許証など政府が発行する身分証明書で本人であると確認できれば、
フェイスブックやインスタグラムのアカウントに認証マークが付く有料サービスを今週から始めます。
金額はウェブ上では月額およそ12ドル、スマートフォンのアプリで利用すると月額およそ15ドルとなっています。
まずは、オーストラリアとニュージーランドから始めて、まもなく他の国でも展開する予定だということです。
ザッカーバーグ氏は、「この新しい機能によってサービス全体の信頼性とセキュリティを向上させる」としています。
SNSの認証マークを巡っては、ツイッターでも「ツイッター・ブルー」という有料のサービスを去年から導入しています。
