オークション大手「サザビーズ」によりますと、サントリーのシングルモルトウイスキー「山崎55年」がニューヨークで競売にかけられ、17日に60万ドル、約8100万円で落札されました。　
According to auction giant Sotheby's, Suntory's single malt "Yamazaki 55 Years Old" was auctioned off in New York and sold for $600,000 on the 17th, or about 81 million yen.
山崎55年は55年以上の熟成を重ねた複数の原酒をブレンドしたもので、日本では2020年に100本限定で税抜き300万円で発売され、完売しています。　
Yamazaki 1955 is a blend of undiluted sake that has been aged for over 55 years, in Japan it was sold in 2020 for 3 million yen excluding tax, limited to 100 bottles.
サザビーズは「日本のウイスキーの歴史において、最も古いだけでなく、最も価値のあるボトル」と評しています。　
Sotheby's describes it as "not only the oldest but also the most valuable bottle in the history of Japanese whiskey."
今回のオークションでは、事前の予想価格40万から50万ドルを大きく上回り、海外での日本のウイスキーの人気ぶりを改めて印象付けました。
At this auction, its price exceeded the expected price of $400,000 to $500,000 by a lot, which shows the popularity of Japanese whiskey overseas.
