トヨタ自動車は「シエンタ」などの車種で不具合があり、最悪の場合、火災が発生する恐れがあるとして、約23万台をリコールすると国土交通省に届け出ました。
対象はトヨタの「シエンタ」「ポルテ」「スペイド」「カローラアクシオ」「カローラフィールダー」の5車種のうち、2015年2月から2017年8月まで製造された23万4787台です。
国土交通省によりますと、「スタータ」と呼ばれるエンジンを始動する装置に不具合があり、エンジンが掛からない状態で始動の操作を繰り返すと過熱し、最悪の場合、火災が発生する恐れがあるということです。
これまで13件の不具合が報告されていて、このうち2件は火災が確認されていますが、けが人などはいません。
トヨタは使用者にダイレクトメールなどで通知し、部品を交換することにしています。
