Due to the effects of the tropical depression, which was formerly Typhoon No. 8, the atmospheric conditions from southern Kyushu to Okinawa and Amami are extremely unstable.

In particular, in the Daito Islands region of Okinawa Prefecture, a linear rainband may develop from the evening to late at night on the 27th, rapidly increasing the risk of disasters, so caution is required.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, due to the tropical depression that was formerly Typhoon No. 8 and the warm, moist air circulating around the edge of the high-pressure system, the atmosphere from southern Kyushu to Okinawa and Amami is extremely unstable.

Heavy rain and very heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms are expected from southern Kyushu to Okinawa and Amami. The expected rainfall amounts for the 24 hours until noon on the 28th are: 180mm in Okinawa, 150mm in Amami, and 100mm in southern Kyushu.

In particular, in the Daito Islands region of Okinawa Prefecture, there is a possibility that a linear rainband will form from the evening to late at night on the 27th, causing the risk of disasters to increase rapidly.

Be alert for landslides, flooding in low-lying areas, and rising or overflowing rivers, and also be cautious of lightning and severe gusts of wind such as tornadoes.

Typhoon No. 9 will approach the Ogasawara Islands from tomorrow to the day after. Meanwhile, the large and strong Typhoon No. 9 is moving north over the seas near the Ogasawara Islands at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour, and is expected to come closest to the Ogasawara Islands between the 28th and 29th.

In the Ogasawara Islands, the wind is expected to gradually strengthen and the seas will become rough from the 28th onward. On the 29th, very strong winds are expected, along with heavy rain accompanied by thunder.

There is a risk that the rain will continue around the 30th.

The Japan Meteorological Agency is urging people to be extremely cautious of high waves, strong winds, landslides, flooding of low-lying areas, and rising river levels, and to watch out for lightning and sudden gusts of wind.
