The second semifinal of the National High School Baseball Championship in summer saw Okinawa Shogaku High School defeat Yamanashi Gakuin 5-4, advancing to the finals of the Summer Koshien for the first time.

沖縄尚学は1点を追う1回、今大会初めて4番バッターとして起用された宜野座恵夢選手が、2アウト三塁のチャンスでタイムリーヒットを打って、同点に追いつきました。

山梨学院は、前の試合まで打率8割をマークしていた4番の横山悠選手が1回に先制のタイムリーヒットを打つなどして、中盤まで試合を優位に進めましたが、6回に追いつかれたあとは、打線が相手の新垣投手を打ち崩せませんでした。

安谷屋春空選手「エラーを取り返すという気持ちで打席に」
5回にエラーをしたあとで、6回に2点タイムリーツーベースを打った、安谷屋春空選手は「2年生の末吉投手が頑張って投げている中で、3年生がエラーをしてしまい、悔しい気持ちでした。安谷屋春空 said, I went up to bat determined to make up for my error. After making an error in the 5th inning, Haruku Adaniya hit a two-run double in the 6th inning and commented, While the second-year pitcher Sueyoshi was doing his best on the mound, as a third-year I made an error, and I felt really frustrated.

前の試合までは4番バッターを任されながら打率1割台と苦しんできたことについて「これまでは迷いがあって状態が上がりませんでしたが、きょうは自信を持って打席に立って、積極的に行こうと思い直しました」と振り返っていました。
Up until the previous game, I had been struggling with a batting average in the .100s even though I was assigned as the cleanup hitter. Looking back, I wasnt able to improve my form because I was uncertain, but today I stepped up to the plate with confidence and decided to be more aggressive.
そのうえで次の決勝に向けて「これまで2年生に助けてもらってばかりでしたが、決勝では3年生が頑張って全員で勝ちきり、沖縄に優勝旗を持ち帰ります」と力強く話していました。

新垣有絃投手「自分が抑えて いい流れを持ってこようと」
2年生の新垣有絃投手は「ふだんしないようなミスが出て、チームが動揺していましたが、自分がしっかり抑えて、チームにいい流れを持ってこようと思っていました」と淡々した様子で試合を振り返っていました。Pitcher Arakaki Yugen second-year said, There were mistakes we dont usually make, and the team was shaken up, but I was determined to hold them down and bring some good momentum back to the team, he calmly reflected on the game.

また、6回途中から登板して、無失点と好投した新垣有絃投手については「ストレートとスライダーを駆使して相手の的を外し、バッテリーがねらったとおりのピッチングができていた」と評価しました。
