トランプ大統領に近い保守系の若手政治活動家、チャーリー・カーク氏は、10日、アメリカ西部ユタ州の大学で開かれていたイベントで銃撃され、死亡しました。
Conservative young political activist Charlie Kirk, who is close to former President Trump, was shot and killed at an event held at a university in Utah, western United States, on the 10th.
FBI＝連邦捜査局のパテル長官とユタ州のコックス知事は12日、記者会見を開き、タイラー・ロビンソン容疑者（22）を拘束したと発表しました。
FBI Director Patel and Utah Governor Cox held a press conference on the 12th and announced that they had taken suspect Tyler Robinson 22 into custody.
会見によりますと、容疑者がカーク氏を銃撃したと示唆しているという情報が、容疑者の家族の知人から当局に寄せられたということです。
According to the press conference, information suggesting that the suspect shot Mr. Kirk was provided to authorities by an acquaintance of the suspects family.
コックス知事は会見で「容疑者は、近年、政治により関心を寄せるようになっていたと家族が証言している」と述べ、カーク氏がユタ州の大学を訪れることを把握し、家族に対してカーク氏への嫌悪感を示していたと説明しました。
Governor Cox said at a press conference, The suspects family has testified that he had become more interested in politics in recent years, and explained that the suspect was aware of Mr. Kirks visit to a university in Utah and had expressed feelings of dislike toward Mr. Kirk to his family.
また、会見によりますと、「ファシスト」などと刻印された薬きょうも見つかったということですが、何を意味するのかなどは明らかになっていません。
According to the press conference, shell casings engraved with words like fascist were also found, but what this means is not yet clear.
捜査当局は、ほかに事件に関与した人物はいないとの見方を示していて、詳しい動機などを調べています。
The investigative authorities have indicated that there are no other individuals involved in the case, and they are looking into the detailed motives, among other things.
