President Zelensky of Ukraine revealed that, during his meeting with U.S. President Trump earlier this month, they discussed large-scale weapons purchases from the United States, and that working-level consultations will proceed.
ゼレンスキー大統領は、国連総会にあわせたアメリカ訪問を終え、27日、首都キーウで記者会見を行いました。
President Zelensky held a press conference in the capital Kyiv on the 27th after completing his visit to the United States for the United Nations General Assembly.
この中で、トランプ大統領との会談内容について言及し、「アメリカから兵器を購入する巨大なディールについて協議した」と述べ、アメリカから大量の兵器を調達するため、実務者レベルでの協議を進めていくと明らかにしました。
In this context, he referred to the meeting with President Trump, stating, We discussed a huge deal to purchase weapons from the United States, and revealed that practical-level discussions would proceed in order to procure a large amount of weapons from the U.S.
また、会談後にトランプ大統領がSNSで、ヨーロッパの支援があれば、ウクライナは占領された領土を奪還できるという見方を示したことについて、NHKの質問に答え、「ヨーロッパはロシアからの脅威を理解するべきで、ロシアからエネルギー資源を輸入し続けているとすれば奇妙だ」と述べ、ヨーロッパはロシアからのエネルギーの輸入を停止すべきだと強調しました。
Additionally, in response to an NHK question about President Trump expressing on social media after the meeting that Ukraine could reclaim its occupied territories if it had European support, he stated, Europe should understand the threat from Russia, and it would be strange if they continue to import energy resources from Russia, emphasizing that Europe should stop importing energy from Russia.
これに関連して、ロシアからエネルギーの輸入を続けるスロバキアに対しては、「来月にも会談し、エネルギーの支援のために代替の手段を提示する予定だ」と述べました。
In this regard, regarding Slovakia, which continues to import energy from Russia, he stated, We plan to hold talks as early as next month and present alternative measures to support their energy needs.
一方、ロシアのミサイルや無人機による攻撃が続くなか、追加の供与を求めている防空システム「パトリオット」については、イスラエルから1基が供与され、すでに運用を始めているとしたうえで、「秋に2基が供与される予定だ」と明らかにしました。
