Visually impaired man dies after falling from platform on Tokyo Metro.
警視庁などによりますと、午後1時前、東京メトロ東陽町駅の駅員から「電車と人の接触事故です」と110番通報がありました
According to emergency services, just after 1pm at Toyocho Station on the Tokyo metro, station staff called 110 to report an accident between a train and a person.
The male, who is in his sixties,was transported to hospital after the fall but died shortly after.
The man had a disability certificate in his bag, and it appeared that security cameras showed a man walking along the platform with a white cane before losing his footing and falling on the tracks.
According to Tokyo metro, platform doors were installed at the beginning of tye month, but sensors are planned for operation from February next year.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident of the man slipping from the platform.
