Issue of ”conscription” South Korean government announces method to solve
In South Korea, people who were forced to work in Japanese factories during the Pacific War are suing Japanese companies.
South Korea’s Supreme Court ordered a Japanese company to pay compensation in 2018
On the 6th, the South Korean government announced a way to solve this issue of conscription.
In order to help people who are suing, an organization created by the Korean government is a method of paying money instead of a Japanese company.
South Korea’s President Yun said, ”I decided to advance the relationship between South Korea and Japan toward the future.”

Some of the people suing the Japanese company say the Japanese company needs to apologize and pay compensation.
The Japanese government says the issue was resolved with a promise it made to South Korea in 1965.
