Nobel Peace Prize Awarded to Ukrainian Human Rights Organizations
A ceremony to present the Nobel Peace Prize was held in Norway on the 10th.
This year, people and organizations working to protect human rights in Ukraine, Russia, and Belarus received the award.
”Countries that kill journalists or stop demonstrations are destroying world peace,” said a person at Ukraine’s Center for Civil Liberties.
And he said that the Russian president and others must be tried for the crimes committed in the war.
”Unfortunately, Russian society was powerless to stop the violence in the country,” said a person from ”Memorial,” which investigates human rights issues in Russia and elsewhere.
