モバイルバッテリーやスマートフォンなどに使つかわれている「リチウムイオン電池でんち」による火災かさいや発火はっか事故じこが相次あいつぐ中なか、環境省かんきょうしょうは家庭かていから出だされる不要ふようになったすべての「リチウムイオン電池でんち」を、市区しく町村ちょうそんが回収かいしゅうするよう求もとめる新あらたな方針ほうしんをまとめ、15日にち通知つうちすることにしています

Amidst a series of fires and accidents caused by lithium-ion batteries used in mobile batteries and smartphones, the Ministry of the Environment has compiled a new policy to require municipalities to collect all the unnecessary ”lithium-ion batteries” released from households, and will notify them on the 15th.

「リチウムイオン電池でんち」は、モバイルバッテリーやスマートフォンなどさまざまな製品せいひんに広ひろく使つかわれていますが、ほかのごみと混まぜて捨すてられ回収かいしゅうする際さいやごみ処理しょり施設しせつで発火はっかし、火災かさいが起おきるケースも相次あいついでいます

Lithium-ion batteries are widely used in a variety of products, such as mobile batteries and smartphones, but there are a number of cases where they are mixed with other waste and are discarded and collected, or fired at garbage disposal facilities.

一方いっぽうで、不要ふようになった「リチウムイオン電池でんち」を回収かいしゅうしている市区しく町村ちょうそんは2023年度ねんどの時点じてんで全体ぜんたいの75％にとどまり、搭載とうさいした製品せいひんの捨すて方かたが自治体じちたいによって異ことなっていることなども課題かだいとして指摘してきされていました

On the other hand, as of fiscal 2023, only 75% of the total are recovering unnecessary ”lithium-ion batteries,” and the issue has been pointed out that the way the products installed are discarded differs depending on the local government.

こうした状況じょうきょうを受うけて環境省かんきょうしょうは、家庭かていから出だされる不要ふようになったすべての「リチウムイオン電池でんち」について、全国ぜんこくの市区しく町村ちょうそんが回収かいしゅうするよう求もとめる新あらたな方針ほうしんをまとめました

In response to this situation, the Ministry of the Environment has compiled a new policy that requires cities, towns and villages across the country to collect all the unnecessary ”lithium-ion batteries” released from households.

回収かいしゅう方法ほうほうについては、住民じゅうみんの利便りべん性せいが高たかい地域ちいきのごみステーションや戸別こべつでの分別ふんべつ収集しゅうしゅうを基本きほんとし、役場やくばや公民こうみん館かんなどの拠点きょてん施設しせつに回収かいしゅうボックスを設置せっちして活用かつようすることも推奨すいしょうしています

Regarding collection methods, it is basic to separate collections at garbage stations and door-to-door locations in areas where residents are very convenient, and it is also recommended that collection boxes be installed and used at base facilities such as town halls and community centers.

また発火はっか事故じこを防ふせぐため、破損はそんしたり膨張ぼうちょうしたりしている電池でんちは別途べっと、回収かいしゅうすることが望のぞましいとしているほか、住民じゅうみんに電池でんちを使い切つかいきった状態じょうたいで出だすよう呼よびかけるなど、捨すて方かたを分わかりやすく示しめして広報こうほうすることも求もとめています

In addition, to prevent a fire accident, it is desirable to collect damaged or inflated batteries separately, and we also ask residents to provide easy-to-understand instructions on how to throw them away, such as asking residents to release them when they have been used up, and publicize them.

環境省かんきょうしょうはこの方針ほうしんについて、15日にち都道とどう府県ふけんを通をつうじて全国ぜんこくの市区しく町村ちょうそんに通知つうちし、今後こんご、説明せつめい会かいを行おこなうなどして周知しゅうちしていきたいとしています

The Ministry of the Environment will notify cities, wards and villages across the country through prefectures on the 15th, and hopes to make this policy public by holding information sessions in the future.

環境省かんきょうしょうは「『捨すて方かたが分わからない』という声こえも多おおく寄よせられており、国くにとして統一とういつ的てきな方向ほうこう性せいを示しめすことで、火災かさいや発火はっか事故じこを減へらしていきたい」などとコメントしています

The Ministry of the Environment commented, ”Many people say they don’t know how to throw it away,” and by giving a unified direction as a country, we would like to reduce fires and fire accidents.”
