「こどもの日」を前に総務省は日本のこどもの数の人口推計を発表しました。
Ahead of Children's Day, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications released population estimates on the number of children in Japan.
去年から33万人減って、1982年から43年連続の減少となりました。　
The number of children decreased by 330,000 compared to last year, marking the 43rd consecutive year of decline since 1982.
4月1日時点で、15歳未満のこどもの人口は1401万人で43年連続の減少となり、比較可能な1950年以降で過去最少を更新しました。
As of April 1, the population of children under 15 years old was 14.01 million, marking the 43rd consecutive year of decline and the lowest decline since 1950.
総人口に占めるこどもの割合は11.3％でこちらも過去最低です。　
The proportion of children in the total population is 11.3%, which is also the lowest level recorded.
都道府県別でみると去年10月時点でこどもの割合が最も高いのは沖縄県で16.1％、次いで、滋賀県で13.0％でした。　
By province, as of October last year, Okinawa Prefecture had the highest proportion of children with 16.1%, followed by Shiga Prefecture with 13.0%.
一方、最も低いのは秋田県で9.1％でした。　
On the other hand, Akita Prefecture has the lowest rate at 9.1%.
こどもの数はすべての都道府県で減少していて、100万人を超えているのは東京都と神奈川県の2都県のみとなっています。
The number of children is decreasing in all prefectures, with only two provinces, Tokyo and Kanagawa, having more than 1 million children.
