An international conference promoting the use of decarbonization fuels, such as biofuels and hydrogen, was held for the first time in Osaka. The host countries, Japan and Brazil, set a goal to increase the annual global usage of these fuels to more than four times the current amount by 2035.
この「持続可能燃料閣僚会議」は日本・ブラジル両政府が初めて開き、大阪市の会場にはヨーロッパやアジアなど30あまりの国や国際機関が出席しました。
This “Sustainable Fuel Ministerial Meeting” was held for the first time by the governments of Japan and Brazil, and more than 30 countries and international organizations from Europe, Asia, and other regions attended the venue in Osaka.

会議では、バイオ燃料や水素をはじめ脱炭素につながる燃料の活用を促すため、ハイブリッドエンジンなど自動車分野で利用を図ることの重要性や各国が実情に応じて普及を図っていくことを確認しました。
At the meeting, it was confirmed that it is important to promote the use of fuels that contribute to decarbonization, such as biofuels and hydrogen, in the automotive sector through technologies like hybrid engines, and that each country should work to expand their adoption according to their own circumstances.
そのうえで会議を主催する日本とブラジルは、今から10年後の2035年までに世界全体でこれらの燃料の年間使用量を去年の4倍以上に拡大させ、化石燃料の利用を抑えていく目標を示しました。
Japan and Brazil, which are hosting the conference, have set a goal to expand the global annual usage of these fuels to more than four times last year’s amount by 2035, ten years from now, in order to curb the use of fossil fuels.
今回の成果は、ことし11月にブラジルで開かれる気候変動に関する国連の会議、「COP30」でも示される見込みです。
This achievement is expected to be presented at the United Nations conference on climate change, COP30, which will be held in Brazil this November.
