Tokyo: A system for sexual minority couples has started
There are sexual minority couples, such as those who like people of the same gender as themselves
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government wanted to create a society where such couples can easily live.
And from November 1st, we started the ”partnership oath system”
I will issue a certificate that the two people are partners who will live together
Couples over the age of 18, one of whom lives in Tokyo or attends a company or school, can apply for this system.
If you get the certificate, you can get the qualification to live in an apartment built by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
You can also get a “family discount” on your mobile phone

The couple who received the certificate said, ”I’m happy because society recognizes that we are a family.”
